TOUR CIRCUIT
The Lisbon Zoo invites visitors on a circular journey through lush gardens and carefully designed habitats. Along the way, each zone reveals a different world, from the vast African savannahs to tropical forests and marine ecosystems.
Main Areas
-
MEO Savannah : home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, rhinos and antelopes, this vast area recreates the spirit of the African plains.
-
Primate Temple : a highlight of the visit, where orangutans, chimpanzees and gorillas live among trees and ropes, offering fascinating moments of observation.
-
Tiger Valley : meet the powerful Siberian and Sumatran tigers in a temple-inspired setting that echoes the landscapes of Asia.
-
Dolphin Bay : the most popular attraction in the park, with daily presentations showcasing the intelligence and agility of dolphins, and raising awareness about ocean conservation.
-
Enchanted Forest : a magical open-air amphitheater where tropical birds, owls and small mammals take part in educational presentations about biodiversity.
-
Children’s Farm : a peaceful corner dedicated to families, where children can meet donkeys, goats, rabbits and discover vegetable gardens filled with herbs and seasonal fruits.
Along the path, visitors can also explore the Pelican Lake, the Reptile House, and the Lemur Island, each designed to offer an immersive and educational experience.

HOW LONG IS NEEDED TO VISIT THE ZOO?
A full visit to the Lisbon Zoo takes around 4 to 5 hours, depending on your pace and the presentations you wish to attend. The park covers several hectares and includes both walking trails and the cable car, which offers a unique aerial view of the habitats.
Visitors who want to explore everything — from Dolphin Bay and the African Savannah to the Primate Temple and the Children’s Farm — should plan for a full morning and afternoon.
For a shorter experience, a 2-hour express visit allows you to see the main animals, including elephants, giraffes, tigers, and dolphins. Families with young children often prefer a half-day itinerary, combining a walk through the savannah area, a cable car ride, and one or two presentations.
Tip: To make the most of your visit, check the show schedule on the zoo’s website before arrival and arrive early in the day, when most animals are more active and crowds are smaller.
Souvenir shop
At the end of your visit, stop by the Zoo Shop, located near the main exit.
You’ll find a wide range of animal-themed souvenirs — from plush toys, notebooks, and magnets to t-shirts, eco-friendly bottles, and educational books about wildlife.
All purchases help support the zoo’s conservation and education programs.
There is currently no official online shop — souvenirs are only available on site.
